From Portland step aboard the extraordinary for an hour sail on one of Portland Schooner Co.'s historic wooden schooners, Bagheera or Wendameen. Disembark at one of the jewels of Casco Bay, Rippleffect's 26 acre Cow Island. For the next two hours partake in a delicious lobster bake that includes locally harvested seafood and organically grown vegetables whenever possible. The lobster bake is held within the shade of an oak grove on a beautiful bluff. The bluff rises above a sandy beach and overlooks the sea. After about two hours on the island, board the schooner once again for about an hour sail and arrive in Portland refreshed, enlightened, and richer for this quintessential Maine experience. The price is $105 per person and includes all taxes but not gratuities for the crew. A child discount is available. Sails & Tails typically runs from 10 AM to 2 PM but times may vary.
