Burnt Island Adventure

Join us at Maine Maritime Museum and cruise the winding Sasanoa River through Hell’s Gates and Townsend Gut to Burnt Island at the head of Boothbay Harbor. Spend approximately an hour ashore exploring this historic five-acre island’s nature trails, the 1857 keeper’s house, and the still-active 1821 rubble stone light tower, or simply bring along a late-day picnic lunch and marvel in the beauty of the island. The return trip will pass two additional lighthouses, Cuckolds Island Light and Hendricks Head Light, weather permitting.

Easily park at Maine Maritime Museum. Advance tickets can be purchased up until 5:00 am the day-of. Ticket sales end 20 minutes prior to departure; boarding begins 15 minutes prior to departure. All cruises are rain or shine, but may be cancelled at the discretion of the captain.
