Principal horn Lauren Winter makes her first solo appearance with the PSO in a concert celebrating the talent of the orchestra. Principal players of the orchestra shine in Ginastera’s Variaciones concertantes, then Lauren Winter takes center stage for Strauss’ showpiece for the horn with soaring melodies. The program concludes with Mendelssohn’s joyful and exuberant “Italian” Symphony, a challenging showpiece where the musicians shine together.
