Portland Art Exhibit “Acceptance” Launching May 2
Creative Portland is set to unveil its eighth juried art exhibition, Acceptance, showcasing the works of fourteen talented Maine artists. The exhibition will open to the public during the First Friday Art Walk on May 2, 2025, and will run through April 2026. Art enthusiasts can visit the Creative Portland Gallery at 84 Free Street, directly across from the back entrance of the Maine College of Art & Design, Monday through Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and during First Friday Art Walks.

The Acceptance exhibition features a diverse array of paintings, photography, prints, drawings, and mixed-media works from both established and emerging artists in the Greater Portland area. The theme of “acceptance” was chosen to encourage artists to explore and interpret its meaning through their work. This open call attracted approximately 110 submissions from around 60 artists, reflecting the rich artistic talent within the community.
