Children's Museum & Theatre of Maine

Tenth largest visitor attraction in the state of Maine and named one of the top 12 children’s museums in the U.S. by Forbes Magazine, the Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine is poised for significant growth in its new location. The theatre program—the oldest, continuously operating children’s theatre in the nation—occupies a 100-seat auditorium in our new building.

Devoted to children’s development and learning, the Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine offers experiential discovery, playful education, and joyful exploration in performing and visual arts, science, and culture for children, teens, families, teachers, and caregivers.

The new location at Thompson’s Point features a Maine Watershed Aquarium, Indoor & Outdoor Climbers, Live Theatre Productions, Water & Ball Play, Camera Obscura, Art Workshops, and Interactive Exhibits & Activities.

All visitors (including members) must reserve tickets in advance online. If performances or play sessions are not full, we accept walk ups. We look forward to welcoming you!
