Len Libby Candies is where the locals go for fine, handmade chocolates, fudge, caramels and hundreds of other sweet treats. We make our candies on site, using quality, high-grade chocolate, copper kettles, metal-caste starch molds, stainless steel cooling tables, a 30-foot enrobing belt and lots of elbow grease! Conveniently located on U.S. Route 1, just two miles off I-95 (at Exit 42) and only 10 minutes south of Portland, we are close to dozens of local attractions, including Two Lights State Park, Old Orchard Beach, historic Saco/Biddeford and more.
We guarantee a “moose sighting” at Len Libby Candies, as we are the home of Lenny, the world’s only life-sized chocolate moose. Making his debut in 1997, Lenny stands 8 feet tall and 9 feet wide and weighs 1,700 pounds. Accompanying him in his “habitat” are Libby, our 370-pound Mama Black Bear and her cubs, Chips and Cocoa (all made of solid dark chocolate). Lenny has been featured on Good Morning America, in Trivial Pursuit, and he’s currently included in a popular, 1,000-piece puzzle. With fans all over the world, he is truly the “sweetest” and most photographed moose in Maine!
If you’re a shutterbug, you’re bound to capture lots of great shots at our store that you will be proud to share. In addition to Lenny and his friends, there is our colorful map of the United States painted onto the asphalt in our parking lot; so many eye-catching chocolates and treats to photograph (and enjoy); and sometimes you can watch our candy makers in the kitchen as they pour a batch of caramel, spread out a layer of chocolate on the cooling table or pull candy canes (during the holiday season).
